RICH GRECO
Career Transition Specialist

Rich Greco is an experienced counselor/trainer  with a 10 year background in mental health and addiction counseling.  He has conducted numerous small group training sessions and is a skilled presenter who is known for his ability to effectively engage individuals, assess situations and devise effective action plans.

Rich’s counseling interest emerged when, as a Vietnam veteran, he began to counsel other returning veterans on educational and career benefits under the GI Bill at the Office of Veterans Affairs at San Jose State University.  He also assessed and peer counseled veterans on post-traumatic stress caused by their combat (PTSD).

Rich’s background includes six years as a Substance Abuse Intern with the Sierra Recovery Center’s residential facility in South Lake Tahoe.  He was also instrumental in setting up training seminars for First Step Nevada, Inc., an organization for which he also served as a Board Member.  He was an ‘on call’ Youth Detention Counselor for the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center in Stateline, NV and is a member of the Northern Nevada Critical Incident Stress Management Team (CISM).

Rich re-directed his counseling and training abilities to career management in 2006 when he began delivering outplacement seminars and career counseling for The Facet Group.

Originally from Western Pennsylvania, Rich attended Penn State University, majoring in Engineering.  After an honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, he completed an AA in Natural Science and Philosophy and an additional AA in Addiction Studies from Lake Tahoe Community College.
